A year in review and what to look forward to!

I know we’re heading into the 3rd week of 2015, but the year is kind of just starting for me. The holidays lingered, my sister was in town from British Columbia until mid month and I just started getting myself organized for the new year. So eeeeeekkkkkk, it feels like I’m already behind….but not really. The worst thing you can do is put pressure on yourself when it is still mid January. So no pressure to you or to me.

Last January was the first time I used a word to reflect what I wanted to do in that year. You can read it here!  My word was Action….and I can say there was a bit of action in 2014.  Here are a few quick highlights:

I got one of my client projects published in a home décor magazine!

I was invited to BlogTourVegas and went to Las Vegas and KBIS for the first time with a group of talented interior designer/bloggers and fabulous sponsors.

I went on my first cruise with my family and of course, it was a Disney cruise.  Best trip ever!!!!!!

Signed on some delightful new clients, with my most fun project being a full basement renovation — more details coming on this project. Below is the media room.

Gutted my camper at Emerald Lake and completed a full renovation with my husband and turned it into a Glamper!  This is the new dining area.

Updated my kitchen,  family room and home office – and getting all this professionally photographed by March – so stay tuned!  Below is the Before.

And my year ended on a high note when I was asked to be the Brand Ambassador for the new Urban Barn store opening in Oakville where I hosted a Twitter Party for the first time and held a Style Session at the new store for the holidays.

So what is my new word or mantra for 2015?  Well in early January I started a new board on Pinterest with my word being FOCUS!  I find that sometimes I am all over the place with many fingers in too many pies.  The result?  Nothing gets really done or completed.  And I mean that more on a personal basis.  With clients, everything is on a schedule so there is lots of focus there.  But when it comes to my own personal endeavours, I always take on a lot, then I lose focus or get bored with the project and guess what….its gets 75% finished but never fully completed to my satisfaction.  I really do hate that…..but its my nature to multi-task…sometimes to my detriment.  So this year is all about………..

And I love these famous quotes…..it rings so true for me.

So now its your turn, what do you hope to accomplish in 2015?  Do you have a word or mantra for the year?  Here’s to hoping we are all successful in the coming year!

Glamorously yours xoxo
