Lee Ann’s Kitchen Reno: Good bye 80’s kitchen!!

Today I thought I would introduce you to a new project I am working on.  My client Lee Ann, a single mom wants to update her late 80’s style kitchen.  Just imagine hunter green laminate counter tops, shiny stark white cupboards and green diamonds on your tiles!  Yikes!!  Definitely time for a redo!!

So let me show you what Lee Ann’s kitchen looks like now:

Here’s a close up of the hallway flooring that goes into the kitchen.  And you can’t miss the hunter green laminate countertop.  Lee Ann is so excited about getting rid of all that green!  Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the colour green…just not in flooring or in kitchens where its too costly to replace it once you get sick of that colour.

This is the view of what you see when you walk into the kitchen.  She’s got a huge window overlooking the backyard which lets in lots of natural light which is helpful because her lighting situation isn’t very good right now.  The layout is a mini horseshoe. The peninsula where the dishwasher sits looks into the tiny eat-in area.  See below:

Lee Ann has a very tiny eat-in area, a small desk area to organize her bills, and one lonely pantry for food storage.  Not a very big area when you want to entertain friends, work on your laptop or buy some food in bulk!  There are also massive sliding doors right in the eating area that will not be moved during the reno.Lee Ann Stranges2

Another issue Lee Ann has is that the stove is right flush against the doorway into the kitchen so you get an ugly view of the side of the stove.  Now who wants that as a visual?  She’s also got unsightly bulkheads that can thankfully be removed.  And don’t get me started on the backsplash…..that is so outta there…STAT!!!

So here’s a list of what I will be concentrating on for Lee Ann’s kitchen reno!!

Lee Ann's Kitchen reno list of requirements-1

Hope you are as excited about Lee Ann’s kitchen reno as much as I am!!  Next week I will share with you the materials we chose for her new “classic, modern” kitchen.

If your home is craving some glamour, then contact me online or in person! I’d love to help!

Glamorously yours,

Christine xo
