I can’t believe how fast 2012 is passing by. And on this day of Thanksgiving, I just wanted to give out a few shout-outs of gratitude.
First and foremost, my beautiful family. I am so thankful to have a wonderful husband who supports me and 2 gorgeous glamour girls who make me so proud!!!

Next, I am extremely grateful for all my clients – past, present and future – who allow me to wake up each day excited about another day of interior design.
And last but not least, I want to thank You – the reader of my little old Glam Blog. To all my subscribers who receive my blog posts in their email inbox, thanks you so much for sticking with me and reading about my adventures and love of interior decor. I really do appreciate you!!
And now, as promised, here are some pictures I took of my thanksgiving feast yesterday. I was too exhausted last night to post them, so here they are.

I “borrowed” the idea of using a mini pumpkin at each place setting and monogramming it with each guest’s initial. I think it turned out pretty good, although my calligraphy skills suck big time.

We interrupt this program to introduce you to Harriett the Turkey. She was absolutely divine!! (yes, we name our turkey each year)

Loved my fall inspired flowers centrepieces I bought at Longos

And my centrepiece – boards from an old wine barrel filled with an assortment of gourds.

I’m pretty confident my family had a great time and left with stuffed bellies.
I hope you and your family also had a fantastic Thanksgiving whether your feast was yesterday or today!
Glamorously yours,
Christine xoxo
It’s Thanksgiving in Canada this weekend, and once again I am looking forward to hosting 14 family members for a traditional thanksgiving turkey feast.
So of course, I’ve begun to think about decorating the table to ensure it is memorable and inviting. Below are some fabulous fall inspired tablescapes that I found on Pinterest.

I normally use little place setting cards for each guest but I love the idea of using mini pumpkins instead so I may steal this idea for my table this year.

The use of ghost pumpkins (as I call them) is different and raises the glam factor for this table setting.

Candles, pumpkins and a fancy cheese plate – what more could you ask for!! Oh yes…we are missing wine!

If the weather is warm, why not host your thanksgiving feast outdoors. Love that long wooden farm table.

I couldn’t resist this shot showing a gorgeous mixture of real and silver mercury pumpkins sitting atop some straw/hay.

So pretty….I am definitely adding a mini pumpkin on each place setting.

I’m serving my homemade Butternut Squash soup tomorrow and these beautiful pumpkin-shaped soup bowls with the pumpkin soup terrine would have been perfect. Will have to check out Williams-Sonoma for these next year.

Wish I had seen this picture before I headed to Springridge Farms this afternoon to pick up pumpkins and gourds. I would have bought some straw or hay to tie around my napkins as a special effect. Plus it would have looked great with the mini pumpkin on top of it. Oh well, there is always next year!
All right, I think that is it. I will take pictures of my Thanksgiving tablescape tomorrow before all my guest arrives and blog about it in the evening.
If you are enjoying your thanksgiving feast with family and friends tomorrow, I wish you all the best.
Thanks for hanging out with me!!
With many thanks,
Christine xoxo

I am way overdue for a Decorate as You Dress blog post and the recent purchase of these fabulous floral wedge heels inspired me. Aren’t they absolutely gorgeous for spring/summer. And what an easy look to incorporate into your home decor this season. Love the feminine chintz pattern on these seat cushions (image from Style at Home magazine)

Here are a few more images from the same home featured in the April Colour issue of Style at Home Magazine.

And of course, you can never go wrong with having fresh flowers in every room!!

In the latest spring issue of Dabble Magazine I wrote how Florals in home decor are a constant trend during the spring/summer season. You can read my latest column here.

So, will you incorporate something flowery into your closet and home decor this season. Let me know by leaving a comment below!!
Happy Victoria Day long weekend to my fellow Canadian friends!!

I attended the Media Preview Breakfast on Wednesday for the latest One of a Kind Show which is on now at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

If you have never attended this show, than I highly recommend you visit this weekend before it ends on April 1st. Where else can you find unique home decor items, fashion and jewellery all made by Canadian Artisans.

Below are some Displays & Special Features you should check out while you are there!
One of a Kind Umbrella Competition
April showers bring May flowers! We have invited all of our Spring Show exhibitors to create a piece inspired by the theme “Umbrella” to welcome Spring! From the shape of a raindrop to the freshness of the season, show off your creative edge and use your own medium to design an exciting creation based on your interpretation of this theme. Be sure to visit this display in centre aisle, and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award!

One of a Kind Handmade Display
From sketches to photographs, paint colours to fabric swatches, explore the inspiration boards at this year’s feature display and discover the imagination that drives every piece you see at the One of a Kind Spring Show!
One of a Kind Craft Community Of Canada
A platform for emerging artists to launch their careers! This section features ten of Canada’s brightest talents in the handmade industry, as nominated by the nation’s leading art and cultural organizations. Click here for more information.

One of my favourite artisans is at the show. You may remember Lia Fagan from Mod Pieces….she created that fabulous chevron vintage lamp that I used for my second Cityline show appearance last September.

Love this lamp!

I also totally fell in love with the pottery from Claire Madill!

Gorgeous!!

Another highlight for me was this new artisan to the show, Coeur De Lion Textiles.
Is this not the most fabulous throw you have ever seen?

And look, fabulous cushions to go with that gorgeous throw!

And last, but not least, I fell in love with Tat Chao’s glass candle holders – made from repurposed wine glasses!

What do you think of this light fixture he created – it’s quite phallic looking and quite the conversation starter! It’s so original….I luv it!

Again his stunning candle holders!!!

And if you are planning on attending the show on Sunday, then please keep on reading!

On Sunday, April 1, at 1pm my dear friend and fellow design blogger Christine Dovey, Writer, Owner and Curator of Bijou and Boheme is on stage talking about The Curated One of a Kind Home.

Hope you enjoy the One of a Kind Show this weekend!! Bye for now!!
Glamorously yours,
Christine xoxo
